Being Known...

This week, I realized that sometimes it's hard not to be KNOWN - truly KNOWN. When I was living at home and at Bethel, I felt KNOWN. There were so many people I could talk to/process life with me that really KNOW me - my heart, the way I process things, my family, my experiences, etc. I'm thankful that Sara's here... so thankful... and incredibly thankful for Skype. It's still different though... daily life circumstances and all... I can't fully explain it all. I am so incredibly thankful for where God has placed me, but sometimes it is hard to not be really known... to be misunderstood.

But... I've found great comfort in Psalm 139:

O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise
(when I leave my apartment and come back home);
you perceive my thoughts from afar
(even when I can't fully formulate/express them).

You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways
(even the silly, little things - like the way I like my coffee...).

Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea [KOREA],

even there your hand will guide me
(just like He told me at the beginning of my journey here in Seoul),
your right hand will hold me fast
(can't be separated from His love).

I can't even begin to describe the comfort I've gained from this passage this week...

Your mother is a wise woman. I try to remind myself often: perfection is not required (or even possible). Thanks for another reminder!
